OUR COMMUNITY GOAL
toward securing the land
A COMMUNITY IN MOTION
to bring the first step within reach
THE OPPORTUNITY
Ulster County, New York
✳ THE VISION
House of Ori is a long-held vision for a sanctuary where people can gather, rest, learn, create, and build meaningful relationships with the land and one another.
Rooted in care for Black folks, Indigenous folks, and other folks of color, House of Ori brings together creative residencies, land stewardship, ancestral healing, and ecological education.
We envision a place that grows with its community and offers new possibilities for how we live, care for one another, and steward land together.
LIFE AT HOUSE OF ORI
The residency is part of a living ecosystem of artistic practice, ecological learning, restoration, and gathering.

Art & Residencies
Time, space, and community for artists and cultural workers to experiment, rest, study, collaborate, and develop new work.

Land & Learning
Regenerative food and medicine gardens, natural building, and opportunities to learn through direct relationship with place.

Healing & Belonging
Spaces for rest, care, shared meals, ceremony, and intergenerational connection.
OUR NORTH STAR

Autumn on the land, Ulster County, New York.
✳ THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an extraordinary opportunity to establish House of Ori on approximately 32 acres in Ulster County, New York, near the Shawangunk Ridge.
The current owner and steward is open to a purchase arrangement that may make the property more accessible than a conventional real estate transaction. We now have a short window to gather the resources needed to move forward.
Securing this land would be a beginning, not a finished destination. The first phases would center listening to and caring for the landscape, growing food and medicinal plants, and developing space for creative residencies, education, and community gathering.
